Want to raise money for foster kids and act like a kid yourself? Adoption.NET is proud to partner with Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption Kickball for a Home to raise money and awareness for more than 100,000 waiting children in our foster care system.
Come play with us! Adoption.NET is hosting our first annual Kickball Tournament for Foster Children on Sunday, January 10th in Irvine, California. Proceeds from this event go to support children in foster care and help them find permanent, loving families. The best part is you will have fun doing it!
Everyone can play! Kickball is for every age and ability. Kids can play too! It doesn’t matter if you are a body builder or a couch potato—kickball is easy and fun! So get your team and head for the park!
Step 1: Gather your friends and family together and form a team of 10 players. If you have more than 10 people who want to play—no problem—there is no limit to how many teams you can form. In fact, it could be fun to compete against other family members or co-workers! Spread the word. Print out this kickball poster to display at schools, religious buildings and local shops. You can also email your friends, family and co-workers using the form HERE.
Step 2: Pick a creative team name and organize your kicking line up.
Step 3: Team captains register your team HERE.
Step 5: Make a donation. Each of your kickball players will pay to register to play. A $20 per player donation is suggested, although the amount given is up to each person. In addition to the player contribution, we encourage you to collect donations from your colleagues, friends and family. Use these great fundraising ideas to add to your event success, or try this donation request template. The key to fundraising is to set a goal—and start right away! The team that raises the most money will receive the ‘Top Fundraising’ award. Funds must be received by January 10, 2016.
Awards will be given to:
- The team that raises the most money
- The most spirited team
- The team that wins the kickball tournament
This is a great event for a great cause, plus a little competition makes for some good entertainment. We hope to see you and many members of the community come out to play! For more info, see our event website.
